Good to know
Black sand shows white fish waste quickly; a light pass with a gravel siphon once a week keeps it deep black.

Love this stuff
I always get this for my turtle tank and it makes the tank look so much cooler, my turtle loves it too. It’s easier to clean than you would think and I don’t have to buy it as often as I thought I would. It feels just like regular sand and doesn’t stink at all. It only took about two bags of the stuff to fill up a ten gallon tank to my desired depth.

Beautiful sand! It took a while to clean it, but even then that wasn’t too hard. The material is also soft and silky—it looks great in my tank!

Good sand, nice color, not too dusty when you first add water. Looks great against my plants.
Mandy · September 2026Black sand
Took absolutely FOREVER to wash it clean enough to add to the tank, but now that it's in there it looks super cool. Super black like I had wanted, and it glitters! Doesn't cost much more than regular sand. I have a ten gallon tank and it put abou1.5 inches across the bottom.

The sand did get everywhere when we first opened it. But once it settled in the tank. Its very beautiful looking. I do loose some sand when cleaning the tank. But its worth it for the price
